EP Power Minerals successfully concludes takeover of blasting abrasives business from SCR-Sibelco.
As of December 1, 2022, the blasting abrasive activities of SCR-Sibelco will no longer be part of the Sibelco Group. Sibelco has sold the abrasives business to EP Power Grit GmbH, a subsidiary of the German company EP Power Minerals GmbH.
Trading in blasting abrasives has been an important part of EP Power Minerals’ business model for many years. The company intends to strengthen its position by buying the abrasives business of SCR-Sibelco. As a result of the acquisition, the high-quality product range will in future be produced by EP Power Grit with state-of-the-art production facilities at five locations in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Finland. Transfer of shares takes place on December 1, 2022.
The newly founded subsidiary EP Power Grit specializes in abrasives and industrial minerals based on slags, minerals, glass and other raw materials. The environmentally friendly products are used effectively for surface cleaning in industry, on buildings and ships, for water jet cutting and as decorative building materials. Smart logistics tailored to customers’ needs promise additional benefits.
