Blasting of wood

From wooden furniture to oak beams to flooring and panels, the right grade of abrasive can bring wood back to its best.

Wood being spray cleaned

Used in conjunction with a low-pressure blasting system, our range of abrasives can treat almost any type of wooden surface.

This process can also be used to give wood an authentic aged look.

We’ve seen fantastic results with Bekagrit BG250, Scorex SC250, crushed glass, and our new fine-grade Vasilfine.

All of these abrasives can be used for both dry, wet and slurry blasting.

Whether wood is new or old, painted or unpainted, abrasive / grit blasting (sandblasting) is a perfect way to enhance appearance and bring items back to life. As with facade cleaning, it’s important to select the right type of abrasive blasting media to ensure good surface preparation without any damage.

As well as the products mentioned above, we’ve also seen excellent results with ground walnuts. This type of abrasive / grit blasting media is excellent for soft surface preparation, as it won’t cause any problems with etching. Ground walnuts are also biodegradable, making this a particularly environmentally friendly form of blasting media.
